You gotta remember, I'm forever your [monster] girl
A Tuesday if there ever was one.
Tuesday is The Worst Day of the Week, so I decided to really go all-out with my coord.I know that some people consider this silly, but I really do see my coords as extensions of my personality and outward expression of who I am as a person. Even before I started my fashion blog(s) over the years, clothing was a very important part of who I am, and I have always been this way. I feel like coords like this in particular exemplify my love of both mid-century modern aesthetics and vintage Halloween/ monsters. It's the absolute perfect blend of horror and cuteness! I have been spending a lot of time lately thinking about coords that are more quintessentially "me."
Speaking of mid-century monster aesthetics, I am going to make it a point to watch Mad Monster Party? for the first time this year. (Genuinely, how have I, a Rankin/ Bass super fan/ enthusiast never seen this?!?!?)
I absolutely love Creature from The Black Lagoon, and Gill-man is my favourite of the Universal Monsters. (I love werewolves, but the Universal Wolfman-style werewolf is actually my least favourite of all werewolf designs, aside from the ones that are essentially still human with some added fur and maybe some contacts.) I have very fond memories of watching this movie with my grandma as a kid and us laughing as he came walking out of the water.
I am sad that the brand I got the cardigan from no longer makes this specific cardigan, nor the Wolfman one. :(
I didn't do a single Halloween-y thing this last weekend, and I am hoping to change this this weekend. Hopefully, everyone has their decorations up now and can go see them! :D I wanna get an autumnal drink and walk around with it at night and look at all the decorations (since the "child, have mercy!!!" gas prices are a deterrent for driving around ππ ).
All the Sailor Scouts are in the Gatorade right now, which is why I feel so lousy! All of the *gestures broadly* is supposed to greatly effect my major placements (F U N). Somehow, this October is supposed to be "life-changing" and "the best."
Well, let's see it!
