If I could, I'd change overnight And turn into something you'd like

The first time I heard this song, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I was 32 years old at the time, and I was too told to be crying over a song like this the way that I was. I know, and knew, there were so many things going on in this world, and this little hill of beans wasn't worth crying over. But the tears still came all the same.

Today is a trauma anniversary. I thought I had forgotten about it. I thought this year, I would finally be free of this, that there had been enough distance. But my body remembered.

My body always remembers.
